Are We Living in the "Last Days?"
There is a lot of controversy taking place surrounding the topic of the last days, and if we are currently living in them. The “last days” is not the end of the world, as Hollywood might have us think, but rather, as explained by the Bible, it’s when the world is getting setup for the coming 7 Year Tribulation (also called Daniel’s 70th week) where God will take out his wrath on an unbelieving world and also deal with the salvation of his beloved Jewish nation.Understanding The “Last Days”
The following chart outlines God’s timeline for man and spans 7,000 years. 1 day represents 1,000 years. We know this from 2 Peter 3:8.2 Peter 3:8
"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."If you now look at these 7 days as being like days in a week, the last 3 days (ie. Thu, Fri & Sat) are obviously be considered the “last days” of a week. This is exactly what Christ is referring to when he states that he will come back in the “last days.” Simple, right? We also know that Christ will rule and reign from Jerusalem for 1,000 years (called the Millennial Kingdom) during the 7th day, so the last days’ events regarding Israel take place just prior to the 7th day beginning (at the end of the 6th day).
As extra confirmation that we are in fact in the last days, the Bible also tells us that Jerusalem would become a burdensome stone, Anti-Semitism would increase, apostasy will increase, lawlessness would abound, there will be wars and rumors of wars, the world will be focused on Israel, the world will be saying “Peace and Security,” there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars, knowledge will increase greatly, deception will increase greatly, etc… All of the these last days signs we are told to look for are extremely visible in our world today, and all converging and accelerating at a rapid pace.
I also want to mention the “last days” officially began when God poured out his Holy Spirit upon the earth (nearly 2,000 years ago). This occurred on the day of Pentecost, which took place 50 days after Christ’s resurrection, and is when the Holy Spirit came as a mighty rushing wind from Heaven to fill all in the room with it. Knowing the official start of the last days is a small, yet important piece to understanding God’s timeline for man (and the Bible).

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.“
